Community Engagement

Beyond ethics and current attempts to make archaeology useful for communities, my commitment to community engagement draws from the unpopularity of archeology in Nigeria and the history of parachute scholarship in third-world countries.

To popularize archaeology in my home country and amplify the voices of heritage owners globally, I actively collaborate with community members wherever I work. These collaborative efforts include but are not limited to consultation, local participation in research question formation, and dissemination of research results to community members.
